first the questions: 1. got my preop bloodwork what is MCH? mine is high at 31.9, also what does one do about a high chloride at 110?  My hemoglobin was 15 but can't find the ferratin are they the same or is it listed under something else? 2. how often is normal DS poo for real.  I was so afraid of pooing all day long  and stinking to high heaven.  I am going once every other day and I want more.  Dr. Inman said to go on Colace - which can be habit forming and the NUT said to add more fiber to my diet - which sounds good but kinda scared about what it will do to my new innards.  Anyone have similar experience with the not so DS poo? Ok on to the good stuff Visit with Leslie LDZ she looks fabulous, really you can't tell she has a problem in the world except that she is still sitting there in the hospital.  We had a great visit and found out we both graduated from Eastern Kentucky University - me one year earlier than her - Go EKU Lunch with Lori - Can you believe this girl got herself all cleaned up and out just to have some lunch with us?  What an amazing woman she really is.  Oh, and I got a sneak peek at the tummy in real life after we placed our orders.  It is so flat and so tight.  She looks great and is getting around fine.  I just don't know how she does it, that girl is one tough cookie.  Paula (in***** and Karen (feeder3565) oh, and Kurt (the guy who had DS the day after me) were all there.   What an incredible resource you are Lori, you have made this early post op period for me so much better as have all of you here at OH, I love you guys!
I owed it to myself to research the duodenal switch before consenting to any other weight loss surgery and so do you.  Check out DSFacts.com and DuodenalSwitch.com for more information.  Remember think twice, cut once, revisions are risky and revision surgeons are rare.

I can't comment on the blood work, perhaps the nurses will chime in. If you want to go more, forget the fibre and add some more fat! That will get things moving! According to the DS veterans, the more you poo, the more you lose! Lori is fab. I haven't had the pleasure of getting to know Leslie.

I
LOVE My DS!

I'd much rather be sitting in a restaurant surrounded by my fellow DSers and my hubby than sitting here looking at the walls.  I get antsy just sitting here at the house, so coming out to lunch was a much needed break for me!  I'm glad you were here for a reason to get out!  It was nice meeting everyone today!  And anytime you're in town, Vicki, let me know b/c I'll be there! Hugs, Lori
