Too bad that the so-called "waitress" didn't tell you that you could have ordered from the "Lighthouse" menu that allows adults to order smaller portions.  Here is the link:

Put me in the "I don't use my WLS card" camp.  I don't see how surgery entitles me to any special treatment at a restaurant.  If I choose to eat at a restaurant I do it knowing I don't eat very much.  I take home whatever is left and consider it another meal, or two.  Lucky me that my dining dollars go farther than the average person.

I never tried my WLS card at Red Lobster.  I normally order an appetizer, and take half home.  My niece orders from the childrens menu, but the choices are limited.....mac and cheese, fish sticks, shrimp, chicken fingers......not what I really ant from Red Lobster.

And, I never have had a problem anywhere asking for an appetizer as my meal.

My nephew works at Red Lobster (he's 23, goes to college and lives in our basement too...but that's another story for another post ). ANYWAY, I asked him about this and he says it's TOTAL BS! He said that chances are you had a waitress who was upset about you order less expensive meals that are on the kid's menu.  That means less tip for her.

I'm still pre-op but one of the best things I like about going out to eat at places like Red Lobster is when they serve those huge portions I usually have some left over to take home and eat later or the next day. I didn't know they give you a WLS card for resturants. I'll still order the regular size meals & have yummy leftovers.

my  2 cents....
Instead of sharing time with Friends, and ordering from a menu that  would Polly end up taking a doggy bag home with you........... you make a big deal and want to leave the place....
WLS is a choice and there are many places that I'm sure don't recognize the card ...so big deal... I have many a time gone somewhere with friends and not even liked the food but I'm sure some soup or an appetizer would have been fine, and not to cause hurt feelings..
some ppl are just  sweat the small stuff .....
and using that excuse about being a NATIONWIDE GROUP of WLS patients and share info.....is what some would call BLACKMAIL ..just to make a point and get away with making the
poor woman have to think she's made a wrong choice.... You should have taken it up with the manager and not someone just doing their job for  minimum wage over a few dollars...
sorry no sympathy here............only if she was rude then I'd understand a little

Do you/are you having a DS?  No info on your profile + overly rude reply makes my trolldar go hinky.  If I were the OP, I'd block you.
