Sweetie I had the same thing going into surgery. I started getting scared, and I hadn't met my doctor until about 12 hours before surgery so I was realy nervous. I am sorry that your family isn't as supportive as they should be, but hey you've got us! Good luck and don't worry you will do great.

I don't know Dr. Teel, but personal warmth is no gage of professional skill. The only place that Dr. Teel needs to shine is in the operating room. You're hiring him for his surgical skill, not his cuddle factor. Here's a hug if you need one: (((Jeanie)))

And I wouldn't discount your sister too quickly either. If she was thwarted in her attempt to have WLS, she may very well be happy for you, but it's being filtered through her own frustration and disappointment. Give her time and be gentle with her. This has got to be hard for her.

You're right!  I know he will do a great job which is why I hired him.  And you're right about my sister too.  I would probably act the same way and feel jealous if the table were turned

I'm not even approved through insurance and I go through the fears... i always bring them up here and everyone always has a way to calm my nerves.  you will have a ton of folks praying for you and thinking about you the whole day and beyond.

If your sister tried to have the surgery, I would imagine that there might be a little jealousy that you are being switched and she couldn't.  None-the-less I'm happy for you and look forward to having a countdown to being switched myself!
