Can I get DS with a BMI of 45.8 ?

Maybe a bit higher by now (I have no scale)

I know some docs have strict guidelines for a minimum bmi.

You certainly can. Go for it. BMI of at least 40 and no co-morbidities or 35 with 2 co-morbidites. Now you might find some docs with more stricter rules, but keep looking. There quite a few with th rules I stated.

I see you are in CA and there are several good DS surgeons in our midst. I had Dr. Keshishian in Delano; Peter Crookes at USC, Rabkin in SF. Cirangle or Jossart in SF. As far as I know, they all go by the rules I stated, but do check to make sure, of course.

LW - On my surgery date, my bmi was something like 42 or 43. BMI at insurance approval time was maybe 45 or 46.
