Amount of Time in Surgery

I had open virgin DS, and it was 6.5 hours from when they wheeled me in to when they wheeled me out.  Dr. B usually takes 4-6 hours and he was just sure mine would be only 4 ish, but I had a few surprises in store for him, apparently.  He takes a little time while he's in there to biopsy the liver, check the gallbladder and appendix (both left in, sadly), and he pokes around at the spleen and other stuff to make sure everything is as it should be.  On top of all that and my DS, he repaired a hiatal hernia and removed an Meckel's Diverticulum, which is a little extra pouch off the intestines (not so common, don't worry!).
