I tw the doctors who did my fudi, and the rny doctor who told me I could only have a ds , and he said no problem getting it out of town,  the basics of careing for intestinal issues are all the same be it a post op for rny , ds, or decease,   The specialty is in the skill set techniques of creating the modification and the equipment and team functioning together.

there was at least one flt every day mcquire to mcchord for the last ten days, that doesnt mean every one had seats, or actually flew , and there may have been a few additional flts,  why not stop in at the mac terminal and talk with the agents on duty. its near the coimmissary.  if I remember.

Thank you so much Melanie, I will see if I can work out the details, and will let you know what I find out. Your willingness to offer help is a blessing and very thoughtful, thank you again.

I don't know what I could do to help ... maybe offer a ride somewhere.  I live in Puyallup which isn't far from Fort Lewis/Madigan.  I know Melanie offered to help if she could too, and she's an awesome lady I've known for more than three years, so we have lots of references over here.  LOL

Kataryn, thank you so much! I am surprised and blessed to have offers of help as I try to figure out if we can afford the tickets, ect to get to WA by the pre op date of Dec 14th. Your thoughtfulness is appreciated more than you know. I will keep an update as I find out the details.

My previous surgeon would charge 1500.00 if you canceled your date less than 2 weeks pre op.  You might check into that.

That being said, soon as I found out I had approval for the DS I canceled my Rny date.  I have too much behind the scenes information about the Rny, so even thought I had the approval for Rny for almost a year, I would have had my band taken out and left with nothing rather than get the Rny.

It is hard with 3 kids and not alot of family support.   But don't get a surgery you don't want, and a surgery that won't work long term to save some steps. Or, you just may be in a similar situation 4 years from now trying to revise to the DS.
