Ask me anytime about the hernia repair. I really didn't have a tummy tuck, but Teel did a fantastic panniculectomy. Next best thing to a TT and much cheaper too. One thing they told me was if you can wait until 18 months out for the weight to stabilize, then the TT would be better.

Thanks - I didn't realize that! My hernia is HUGE... I'd like to wait as long as possible. I don't have any problems with, except for the size.

I'd talk with Dr A about it. She might have some good insight too. You may not want to wait until it becomes even a bigger problem.

She said she would repair it & she gave me the name of a plastic surgeon for the TT part but I would probably have it done in Cincy since I just need a "regular" (not Bariatric) surgeon. She said not to worry about it unless it starts to hurt or changes dramatically all of a sudden (hope THAT doesn't happen!). I don't recall if your hernia repair was an emergency...? How long were you out of work? I have a desk job for the most part. I went through all my sick leave for 2008 & 2009 with my DS & my dehydration & iron infusions, etc. I would have to wait until 2010 at least so I'd have enough days off to have it taken care of (unless it's an emergency, of course) & also to save my $ for the TT part. I haven't checked out the plastics board yet, but I'm sure there's lots of info there too. Thanks!
