Hi there and Welcome. I'm a newbie too. These people are great here! I too am just getting started my insurance requires a 24 week medical diet before they will even approve me to go "talk" to a surgeon. So I am in week 3 of my Diet. I am looking at the end of May before I can submit the paper work. So it looks like you and I will be riding the same time line! Sounds like you are doing the same thing I am. Reading and learning. I feel like a sponge!

Hi Sara,

I just had my DS on 11/3/09 with Dr. Hill at Saranac.  They have a wonderful program and Dr. Hill is a great surgeon.  Welcome to the boards-if there is anything I can help you with, just let me know.

This board has been such a valuable resource for me.  I learned far more here than anywhere else.

Welcome!

Hi,

and welcome to the DS forum.  Sounds like you're well on your way to getting your DS.

I grew up in Star Lake, maybe you know where that is.  My brother lives in Cranberry Lake and my 3 sisters near Malone,

I know it's cold up there right now!

Welcome Sarah, you will get sooo much good information from this site. Read everyday, I did for 8 months. I knew what to expect and had gotten started on my vitamins. Read and read some more. Congratulations on your choice of surgery, you will love it.

Welcome Sarah,
Having the DS was the best decision I ever made.  It is a wild ride with ups and downs and this list is full of people with lots of good information.  Don't hesitate to ask us any questions.

Hi!  As a veteran of 3 sleep studies, it is interesting that one can sleep being all wired up.  Keep your self very busy the day of the study and get good and tired; that will help quite a bit.  You can take your own pillow, too.

Best wishes for a successful approval process.
