Oh ok, I see what you meant by saying the pain didn't stop.  I thought you misunderstood me but I misunderstood you, sorry.   I may call Dr. A tomorrow and discuss it with him.  I'll feel better about it then.

Its always worth getting this evaluated!  I know it was so scary for my family...I was on too much meds and too ill to know the trouble I was in!  And looking back now, I do feel that I had been having small signs that things werent okay!  Like off and on cramping...even after just protein shakes!  Also these obstructions can and do happen to anyone...not just to WLS patients....as the symptoms list and sight says even newborns can get them.  Hope you feel better and I could/should have made it more clear as to what I meant by the pain didnt stop....as even after going to the bathroom it didnt stop...and then in the worst of all of it I couldnt pass gas nor a bowel movement!  And was vomiting too....it was horrible! Something I will never forget and that I hold close to pass on the experience I had in hopes to help someone else....

Try starting your day with some protein and add protein snacks throughout the day.

I have found that it is not a specific food but combination of food through out the day.  Perhaps the food you had that day comprehensively caused a lot of gas. This has  happened  to me with food I eaten no problem. However I think it reacts to other food I have had.  There is a little tolerance or play in some foods but when you have more than one food in a day that allows you just a little tolerance you double the trouble, or triple it LOL.

on the gatric pain, spent a week in the hopital last august on IV ,  due to the same symtoms,  cause was a leaking diverticuli,   and they did not want it to go septic.

Ronnie, my guess is the mustard greens and the milk.  Buy  it never hurts to talk it over with the doc.  I have had problems with romaine lettuce and am familiar with that rock hard stomach feeling.  Ugh.  I'm like you I have to be careful not to wait too long to eat  (I forget)  But to prevent those kind of pains, I think it really helps to have food and water moving through my intestines at all times!!!  Yaaay SEC!  Yaaay Bama!         -Jenny

As a another southern girl..It may have been the greens.  I had a similar episode on Xmas,  but not as bad as you...When the pain hit..I immediately took Charcaps...I have other stomach issues and these caplets immediately neutralized the issues..Also could have been the milk...so I agree w/the food elimination..Good Luck.
