You didn't have surgery to go on a diet. I get that. On the other hand, no surgery will make you immune from the effects of too much food, nor from the effects of fthe wrong kinds of food.
Some people fall into the "I can eat whatever I want" category. Most don't, and find that at minimum they need to watch their carbs to lose or maintain.

Hi Grace,
I'm sorry for the struggles you're having. I don't blame you for being frustrated. I do have a couple of thoughts, though.
Could you tell us a bit more about what you eat? For example, how many grams of protein do you get in a day? Maybe you could give us a sample menu for a day or two, so that we can help.
Given the constipation and the slow loss, I too wonder if you are eating not enough protein and fat. For me personally, I don't "count" carbs, because it gets me into compulsive behavior. However, I do focus on getting in high-protein (making sure it is at least 100 grams a day) and I don't worry about fat at all. So although I don't put carbs off-limits, I find that this naturally leads to low-carb eating, and I always feel satisfied. Doesn't feel like a diet to me when I'm living on steak, bacon, sausage, cheese, loaded omelettes, peanut butter, pastrami, bbq spare ribs, etc.
There's nothing wrong with getting a second opinion, especially since it appears that your surgeon may not do a lot of DSes. However, I think you may well be able to do this without having to go under the knife again.
Good luck!
Jenna

I agree with everyone else - give us an idea of what you're eating so we can help. It'll help to see if your eating habits are in a DS style or if there are some things you can do to help yourself before going for a revision. The constipation does give an indication that perhaps you aren't eating in waht a DSer normally does (though DSers do get constipated - it can usually be managed by eating more fat). Plus with the guidance your nut gave (not drinking with meals) it really sounds like they don't know much about the DS and they've probably told you to eat like an RNYer which would definitely feel like a diet to many of us (low fat low cal etc). It's great to hear that your labs are good - but I can see why that's not enough for you....you didn't get surgery to have great labs.
So like everyone else said, give us a sample menu for yourself and your vitamin schedule and see if we can give you some pointers.
I can see why you're dissapointed...hugs to you!

Things are making a little sense now. You had me puzzled when you mentioned that you didn't drink with meals, because that does not apply to DSers. If you were given and are following all RNY rules, well, that could constipate you. It's not just that we take supplements and eat more protein, but we don't limit fat. I don't go out of my way to add fat, but do end up eating quite a bit to get my protein in, and eating fat helps us poop. Like many others here, I quit losing weight when I was actually eating too little, and I upped the protein and fat (and calories because those are pretty calorie dense) and started losing again.
Please do as some have asked and post some of your diet, because it really sounds like they have you on RNY stuff, and that's not best for you. Sadly, many of us (myself included) get terrible info from our surgeons nutritionists, and it's usually RNY info. The nice folks here helped me clear that up right off.

I'm sorry to hear your having problems with regain and not losing as much as you had hoped. DO you know the size of your stomach?
I tended towards constipation a few months ago, but eating more foods with fat in them has helped quite a bit, I no longer have to take anything to help me go. I know that several DSers here have consitpation problems, so I don't think your "abnormal" persay.
I hope you can find some answers to help you get to your goals.
