I'm sorry your getting a tumor scare.
I have some familiarity with kidney tumors, as one of my sisters has had several for over 10 years. Most of my family have issues with kidney stones (lots and lots of issues with 'em) and this sister in particular, which combined with her having a medulary sponge kidney, has made them take a "wait and see" approach with her kidney tumors.
What they have made clear to us is, that tumors in the kidney are almost always benign, and even if they aren't they tend to be very slow growers. They look at hers regularly, and for 10+ years, they have been right, so still have not tried to remove them.
I hope they get yours out as soon as they can, and it turns out to be nothing. It probably will, so hopefully you won't worry too much until that happens. Good luck.

I hope it is benign, though the doctor doesn't seem to think so. Best wishes to you and your sister. I hope she continues to do well.

My thoughts are with you.
I had lymphoma more than a decade ago, so very much pre-DS. If your tumor is malignant and if you opt for chemo, I would suggest taking a lot of milk thistle. It really helps the liver weather the chemo.
Chemo generally makes you really uninterested in eating, and if you end up with it, you'll have to play it by ear with food. I imagine if you can stomach shakes, you'll want to drink lots of them to keep up your protein levels.
But my great hope is that you will not need treatment at all!
Hugs and blessings,
