nephew died this morning

I'm feeling really angry right now. If there was ever a person who deserved a break and never got it, it was him.

He was diagnosed at age 12 with a rare type of leukemia, and with a bone marrow transplant and many other controversial treatments, he was technically cured. He endured many health issues because the "cures" had pretty much ravaged his body.

In the last few years he was barely at a point where he could work part time and have some semblance of his own life, and then was in a bad car wreck which broke his back as well as other bones, and caused head trauma which he was still working hard to recover from.

He was barely back to walking again and getting his mind back, then got the news the cancer had returned and spread. He was 29 now. He spent all of those years from 12 to 29 with so much suffering and fighting, not to mention the indignities associated with the illness and care.

His last act of goodwill was to donate his body to science, but prepping his body before they come pick him up this morning just seems like a final indignity. He was a brilliant, compassionate, funny man, and just deserved so much better. I should just be glad that his battle of endless bull**** is over but I'm selfish and just miss him and am pissed how terribly unfair his life was.

I am so sorry you are hurting so badly right now.. I can see why you feel his time was unfair.  I'm 100'% positive he's all better right now and would tell you he's fine if he could.  It's going to take time for your grief to extingui****self.  Please know he has a peace now that none of us will know until it's our time to leave this earth.

Oh Bearmom...  Saying "I'm so sorry" just feels hollow, but it's the truth.

There will be time to be glad for his ended battle later.  There is NOTHING wrong with being angry at the loss of someone like that, especially when it's someone you're close to.  Be angry!  Yell and scream!!!  And know that you're not alone in feeling like that.

I am so sorry for your loss. What a ****ty situation. I don't blame you one bit for being pissed. I hope so much that several other people's ****ty situations are resolved because of that last act of goodwill. Doesn't help him much, I know, or you. I'm wishing you peace and comfort.

I am so very sorry for your loss.  I can not imagine losing one of my nephews.

A good quote I have found comfort in over the years is:
"When someone you love becomes a memory, the memory becomes a treasure."  unknown

Your nephews suffering is over.

Why is it that brilliant, compassionate and funny people die young, while worthless dirtbag s****uckers live out their long lives in prison?  I don't know the answer to that, and you're right, it's not fair.  Really-not-okay unfair.

I am so, so sorry for your loss, and for the world's loss of someone with so much to give.  You have every right to be angry.  I hope you are able to find peace at some point, but for now, may you find solace through your anger & grief.  Rage can be cathartic.
