My fav I call the "choco-cherry love shake":
several ice cubes, shot of Davinci sugar-free cherry syrup, 7 or so frozen cherries, heavy cream or milk, chocolate protein powder, tablespoon of cocoa powder (regular or dark chocolate), blend until thick and milk-shake like. Top with whipped cream (land o' lakes has a new one in the can sweetened with splenda).
Choco-Mint Shake: Ice cubes, shot of Davinci sugar-free peppermint syrup OR you can use a few drops of peppermint extract from the grocery store, heavy cream or milk, toss in about 1/2 teaspoon to a teaspoon of decaf instant coffee crystals, chocolate protein powder, tablespoon of cocoa powder. Yes, top that sucker with whipped cream and if you are feeling particularly decadant, crush up a little bit of sugar free peppermint candy and sprinkle on top of the whipped cream.
Tutti-Fruitti: Ice cubes, crushed pineapple/banana/frozen cherries (I love to freeze my bananas when they get really ripe & use them in my protein shakes), Orange Drink (crystal lite, or tropicana lite orange drink), shot of sugar free syrup - try cherry or raspberry or strawberry Syrup, then vanilla protein powder.
Peach Melba: Freeze blended apricot or peaches in little ice cube trays (or just use them out of the can - I like my shakes extra icy so I like to freeze them). Use the peach ice cubes, add shot of Davinci raspberry syrup, vanilla protein powder, milk or cream, blend it up.
The Elvis: Frozen bananas pieces, ice cubes, milk or cream, Davinci sugar free banana syrup (or, try the imitation banana flavoring from the grocery store, where they sell the vanilla extract), heaping tablespoon of creamy peanut butter, vanilla protein powder.
I have to admit I LOVE my protein shakes. Everyone teases me that I "cook" them, and I guess I do go to a lot of trouble making them, but I have one every morning for my breakfast and have been for over a year now, and since the surgery at least one maybe 2 more during the day, constantly changing it up and totally loving it. Having sugar free syrups to experiment with has helped so much. You can find them on-line, Torani you can find at Walmart, I have found Artista and Davinci also at TJ Maxx from time to time.
