For the love of God...you pervert!

Pickle juice!  That's like sucking on sweaty socks!

You crazy Americans and your condiments!

I have a small cup of cottage cheese and a pickle spear every night for a snack.  I LOVE dill pickles (Claussen are my favs) since my DS.

I wonder what it is that makes pickles so appealing to us....I'd be interested to find out!
Blessings,

I should elaborate a bit.

Pickle juice, specifically, seems to be the next step of Pica after crunching ice.

How funny....I never really thought about it for a very long time now but a nice good deli pickle was a huge craving for me right after surgery!  I wanted it so badly my mouth would water just thinking about it!  At about 4 weeks post op my sister and the kids and I went to a movie and they had those HUGE deli style pickles, my nephew told me he would eat what I didnt (lol....he didnt know that a bite for me was going to be it!)  so I bought one and couldnt tolerate the smell of it!  I was so nauseated that to date I still cant eat a pickle!

Twice since surgery I have craved and eaten pickled beets.  I figure my body was asking for something in particular so I indulged it.  Did you see that Michelle - Vitalady - said it's iron you are needing?  Listen to her - she knows her stuff!

Girl, I was the same way post op especially when I was on liquids!  I guzzled pickle juice, lemons and salt, and limes and salt. I am surprised I didn't burn a hole in my sleeve!!!

I never figured out why I was craving it, but now I can hardly stand the sight of a pickle. Go figure??

My family has some issues like Addisons, and cravings for things like salt were the first clue. I'm over it now, but only since surgery and no idea why.

It's probably nothing, but do make sure you've had full labs drawn and make sure you aren't out of whack on something, because there can be reasons.

If it's the vinegar you crave, well that's good for you, but you may want to try some cider vinegar instead.
