Debi,
I love your attitude.  I agree completely.

Wow, this sounds like SO much fun. I've always wanted to go to Montana, but I'm not sure I can swing the finances, or persuade the DH.

I'm going to keep my eyes peeled as it nears. Either date would technically work for me.

Well here's hoping! You can assure him you're in good hands with me and that I won't let you run off with any rodeo people or cowhands :-p.

Hey,

On the other hand you could work on finding some cute cowboys for moi.

It sounds like Yellowstone is more than I can handle.  I want to fly in on Thursday spend 3 days around Three Forks and fly home on Monday.  You have listed a bunch of fun stuff all of which I would love to do:  horses, caverns, rafting, and lots and lots of steak eating.  Any shopping around?

Can we pick the weekend pretty soon?

I'm so excited!!!!

Alrighty, we can find plenty to do around the birthplace of the mighty Missouri :-) . I'll make sure that at least one outing is to a place inhabited by cowboys, bikers or both and involves good dance music. (Out there, bikers are almost always very civilized citizens. It ain't like Back East. Heck, some cowboys are bikers too.)

If you want to tour the caverns, you must be able to walk two miles while ascending/descending many hundreds of steps and gaining a few hundred feet of altitude, starting at over a mile above sea level. This is no small feat. So start training now! http://www.travel.state.mt.us/categories/moreinfo.asp?IDRRec ordID=3088&SiteID=1

We can do an outing to Virginia City/Nevada City, too. That's always lots of fun.

What kind of shopping do you want to do?

Hi Elizabeth and all the Montana gang,

I can fly in on Thursday the 29th  to Bozeman at 1pm and fly back out on Monday at 2:30 for a little less than $600.  I may have a ride share from the airport but if not that is ok.

The motel sounds great to me.  Any chance that it will be booked for that weekend?

I am excited about the list of activities you mentioned, specifically:  caverns, river float, horseback and hot springs.AND lots and lots of STEAK!!!  Probably more than can be fit into 3 days??  If anyone is staying one more day at Three Fork I would def. be up for that as well.

I assume the flights will only go up so as soon as we know this is THE MONTANA weekend if you would let me know I will book my flights as soon as I have arranged for my dog sitting.

I wish I could do Yellowstone but I see that that is a much bigger trip.  Maybe another time.

ANYONE ELSE FLYING IN TO BOZEMAN?  What would your flight times be?

I know I'm obsessing.  I just don't want to miss out because my dog sitter got another job or the flights go sky high.

B

Hey that's pretty good pricing! Check to see if there's any price difference if you fly out on Tuesday. Where all have you checked on prices? Sometimes the airline websites or calling direct can do a little better than places like Travelocity or Hotwire. It can vary.

And yes, the prices will continue to increase as we move into hot travel season, so you are not obsessing :-). I don't see anything online that indicates anything fancy going on in the area for that weekend that would bring in crowds and fill the accomodations, but I want to check with my sister to make sure there's not something she might know about that I don't see in cyberspace. So give me another day or two and we should be ready to firm things up. Heck, I'm headed out in June and haven't bought MY ticket yet!
