Oh, DUH. For the hot springs one must possess a bathing suit. The indoor plunges are gender divided and suit optional (as in skinny dipping is fine), but the outdoor pool is suits only, no non swimming attire if you're going in the water.

Oh I don't think I'm adventurous enough to skinny dip.  So suit shopping later in the summer, hopefully when things are on sale.

Hmm. I dunno if I'd skinny dip with people I knew or not. This is kind of a hippy dippy place, though, so you never know what you might see :-).

I don't mind seeing other people's hippy dippy's but I prefer to keep mine under wraps.

l live at 6500ft. so can hike just about anywhere.  I've been to Carlsbad Caverns in southern NM.  Are the L&C Caverns the same?

I rather like rough water and have done alot of #5 rivers in the country but if no one else wants to do that kind of rafting I'm up for floats, tubing, etc.

I get a little antsy if I'm in the car ALL DAY so like activities thrown in.

Love horseback riding.  Not much of a shopper.  I always think things are overpriced.

I use to camp a lot but now prefer a bed and hot running water.

I think just being with other folks will be a hoot and a beautiful backdrop of Montana.....can't get much better than that.  Whatever the group decides will be fine.
I certainly can have fun doing almost anything.   D..........................

Yup, Lewis and Clark Caverns are the same geological type of caverns as Carlsbad. If you don't want to necessarily do the caverns tour, it's gorgeous to just hike around up there while others are touring.

No danger of being in cars all day, but I assume NM is a lot like MT in that you have to drive 50 miles to get anwhere, right? It's that kind of a thing. Caverns to hot springs, for example, is 30-45 minutes IIRC. But out there, the drive is part of the experience. That's something that the Easterners tend to find a little odd :-).

Hey, if you want to stay a couple more days and do some white water stuff, the Beartrap Canyon of the Madison River is awfully pretty. You might take a look at some of the Yellowstone River options, too.
