Sunday update on Hailey (MsUnderstood). Another surgery tomorrow. :-(

Poor Hailey can't catch a break.  She dealt with a stricture soon after having the DS back in 2008 that made her life hell for months.  Then at 9 months out she started having the stomach/intestinal pains that we now know were her intestines kinking and obstructing and ultimately the need for her surgery a week ago.  Well, since she wasn't able to keep anything down, they did a CT and it's showing her stomach won't drain, so they suspect that there are some adhesions on the upper anastamosis.  They are doing an exploratory laparotomy (sp?) tomorrow and will probably put in a feeding tube since she hasn't had anything to eat in a week.  They are going to examine the bowel as well and may possibly do a resection if they see a need.  Basically, it's an exploratory procedure, but we're hoping it's something as simple as dilating that area that isn't allowing anything to pass through from the stomach.

She has been pretty upset but was in good/positive spirits when I left the hospital earlier tonight.  God I am hoping this is the last of her troubles and that she and her DS can play nice together and live harmoniously from here on out.

Not sure of her surgery time tomorrow, as she is a work-in, but I will post an update once she's out of surgery.

OMG  Melody!!!!!  I just got online after being out of town for awhile and had no idea our poor Hailey is hurting.  Does she have her cell phone w/her?   Please let her know I'm thinking of her and praying for her.  Darlene

Yes, she has her phone on her.  It's hard for her to talk because of the NG tube making her gag and dry heave, but she is checking her texts periodically.

Oh that poor gal, that really sucks.  I am glad to hear her spirits are still up.  Please send her our best, she is due for a big break!

 Damnit that isn't what I wanted to read.  :(  I hope this is it for her.  

Thanks  Melody for  keeping us  updated  with that said ... Hailey hang in  there ..You  will be  on the mend soon, we all are wishing  you well and want this resolved ASAP. AND  TURN TO A NEW AND BETTER CHAPTER.

Boy you nailed it Melody.  Let's hope this is something as simple as dilating an area.  Gosh, we all want these problems to be over already!!!

Oh boy. I am sorry to hear this. But then again, it will be nice to have someone get some answers.

Thanks for being such a great angel to Hailey. I'm sure it's been a help to her to see someone in person who cares about her.
