Another Hailey (MsUnderstood) update. Still in the hospital.

Thank u so much for the update.  I've been texting Hailey but unfortunately to the old cell phone#.   Have her text or call me with her new one when she is up to it.  You are such a good friend to her.  Thank God she is in New York.  New Mexico is clueless with the ds.  Let her know if I can do anything for her family please let me know.   Love,   Darlene

Thanks for the update - I'm swinging fowl for her! I hope her recovery is quick and that her labs come back up! AND that her ins takes care of everything so there isn't that extra stress of the costs...

I'm also thinking "hmmmm" - as I have had very sporadic yet severe pain myself. I get one wave every 3 months or so. Takes my breath away. Can't walk, speak...just pant. Then it passes within 5 minutes or less. I've always assumed it's a kink in the bowel. Have mentioned it to my PCP and pointed out that since my body has lost so much fat, my intestines may have settled or shifted in a bad way. He agrees - but thinks we should leave things be unless I develop an obstruction or the episodes increase.
Thanks for the info - now I know to DEMAND a CAT scan for diagnosis when & if I need it! And that if i need surgical intervention - to get nutrition going from the get-go.
