DS Revision vs virgin DS

If I'd been there in the lapband ruckus, I might understand, but this was quite different, on a board where people were asking about, and sharing information about revisions.

Her hostility came from nowhere, when people made comments to simply look at all the options. I've seen you give that same advice many times on OH, and although you may not see the same hostility regarding the sleeve, you certainly must understand why it's not cool to hand a load of **** back to someone who's trying to help.

Sigh. Then it wasn't enough for her to just rail against the people who mention the DS, but she felt the need to point out the DSer was getting a freebie from welfare while she had to work for hers. It's not like it was just the one post, cuz I probably wouldn't remember her as well if that were the case.

She's not the only one who's tangled in the past with someone sharing info, and there are others on the DS board now that have been PIAs in the past, and I don't have issues with them. They thought they had an issue with surgery types at one time, but didn't make it an issue between people.

It's one thing if she didn't want to hear it. She made her choices, and that's good. But to treat people that were trying to inform and help the way she did, as well as trying to screw up other peoples right to get information that might help them? If I can't be part of the solution, I sure as hell try not to be part of the problem.

But after all that, she comes to the DS board for help, and still has an attitude toward us? I mean, I don't wish her ill, but I really don't see any reason to care.

Bearmom...

I totally get what you are saying, I do. But... and there is a big huge but here. She had just experienced a few DSers invade the band board telling newbie bandsters they will never get to goal, they have a crap band, a laff band... stuff that is a bit too late to tell newbie bandsters a week post op. It's a done deal at this point.

She was taking info from THAT time an applying what she knew and learned to future DSers. I did the same thing. You forgave me, why not pepsi?

She's fat, bottom line she's fat and needs help. Please give her the same coutesy as you extended me?

You gave me a chance to learn and realize reality, isn't it fair you extend her the same?

BTW... I moooooooed at a skank ***** coordinator that refers people to a dangerous surgeon that will quite literally kill them. I am being moderated for mooooooooing at the ***** i'd do it again damnit! Thus.. not responding as a 'quote' or 'reply'. Quick replies are not moderated.

Hiya Pepsi!

I'm so glad you found your way over here where the real deal info is found!

I asked Dr. K about this at one visit and he didn't seem to give Virgins a head start on the journey over the Revisions.  In fact, there seems to be a good mix on his support site that are doing equally well.

I'd say to just jump full speed ahead into research, make the commitment for the bestest surgery (DS) and then make the commitment to be compliant as possible!!!

I'm certainly not an expert and am only 3 weeks post-op but I've lost like crazy and had very little to lose and I am far far far from being a surgery virgin.....(this is where people nod and say ....no kidding!!!)

I'm attending a lil WLS seminar tomorrow and will ask the speakers to see what they think (Dr. K, Vitalady, etc)

Best wishes on your journey!  Let us know when we can swing some critters and send some love!

Thanks so much Joyce!  I'm happy to see that you've found your way out of whatever hole you landed in!  I give you credit for having the tenacity and determination to push forward until you finally found the answer.  I'm so in the early stages and don't know how this HUGE decision (or not) will pan out, but I'm thinking about it and checking it out.

Let me know what you find out!
