Yep, it's next Tuesday. It's the Lenfest Pavilion, and if you park in the Lenfest garage they will give you a parking pass once you're in the meeting so that your parking will be free.

We do go out afterwards, and frankly, that's the main reason I go to the meetings. Lately, we've been grabbing a bite at Chili's right by the hospital. I hope you can make it!

I bought a bunch of cheap pillows, and ate like I was never going to have food by mouth again! That was about it.

You are more organized than I was!  I would suggest to be ready to get your period in the hospital, even if you are not expecting it.  Bring your own undies and pads.  I had to use the hospital's undies and pads, and they were  awful!!!!!!  I had my hubby bring me some undies and my own pads, and I felt human again!  Also, lip balm for right after surgery is nice.  Your lips and mouth will be so dry!

Have some samples of protein on hand.  Because everything I thought I liked, I can't look at now. Have sugar free jello and broth for when you get home.  Lactaid milk is also nice to have.  Different teas are helpful.  I have found warm liquid goes down well!   If you have a lap top, bring that.  The TV channels at Abington suck!  And, you have to pay $7 per day for TV!  If you have netflix, you can watch a movie on your lap top!  The day will be here and then behind you before you know it!

Thanks Diane! I am so excited. I have added your suggestions to my list. I did buy peppermint tea already (I think that Julie mentioned that).

LOL....My hubbys said I was the only crazy person to buy a recliner just to recover in.  I had to test them to make sure it sits up high and I can get in and out of it without too much fuss.  No one sits in now. LOLOL  Ive bought a few moo-moos/loungers/ tube top dresses so i can just go out and walk when i need to without changing clothes.

neck pillow

a comfy warm throw to wrap around shoulders

belly pillow - You'll be very grateful you have it when the first coughs and sneezes arrive :-).

Here is a list of what most hospitals recommend that patients bring:

- Travel-sized personal toiletries, including any special toileting items (don't want to use hospital's stuff) - Robe and slippers (some hospitals provide non-slip sox at admission) - Your cane or walker

What patients should leave at home:

 - Valuables (money, billfold/wallet, purse, credit cards, jewelry) - Medications (unless your doctor asks you to bring them.  The hospital will administer your medication.)

I may be totally wrong on this, but isn't there something about dental procedures spreading infection thru the body.  You might want to check on this with your surgeon.  Maybe just some prophylactic antibiotics would be appropriate.

That is a detailed list, thanks! My surgery isn't till July 26th so I hope that this far out getting a crown isn't going to be a problem. I actually am on an antibiotic already from the dentist so opefully that covers that front.

Yeah, Abington's pre-op scheduling department will call you and they'll tell you when you need to stop all that stuff.

My surgery is the 7th also, and so far I have purchased a vitamin holder, some post-op drink mixes, gotten childcare all situated, and am now starting to organize the house some so there won't be so much to worry about.  I still need to check with my surgeons office to see what vitamisn I will need post-op, so I can get those. Right now I am on day 4 of the pre-op liquid diet, and I am not having fun at all, lol!  My pre-op visit is tomorrow, and I go for all my testing and pre-registration at the hospital afterwards.
