OT: Ebil Kitteh went to the Rainbow Bridge today
I just had to let my Zoe go in January, same, same. I'm very thankful that the slow kidney failure is much harder on us than them. Zoe got spoiled all weekend (new year) and then all day Monday, by staff and customers. She was talking and purring all day, but not moving too much.
She had been rescued from a dumpster and wanted nothing more than to be adored. Is that so much to ask? Well, she got it. I had her 12 yrs, my son had her for the first 3. That's 15 yrs of being adored.
I struggle to think I'll go thru this again soon. We took a rescue with kidney issues. His owner got too sick...... So, we will not have him another 10 yrs, but he is a love machine. However long we have with him, well, he will be cuddled. One of my customers reported that he had stapled her to her seat for awhile. He does this thing with his arms........
My son wrote the coolest thing to me, and I'm sure it applies to you:
Hey Ma,
Sorry about Zoe. I know you guys were really close to her. We never created a bond with her and I'm glad she was able to find someone who appreciated her special catness. (some discussion of his aging anmials) Anyway, thanks for taking care of Zoe the way she was meant to be taken care of.
Short, but says it all. Hope it helps to know that she'd found the right hoomin for the job.

P.S. My year + long absence has NOTHING to do with my WLS, or my type of WLS. See my profile.
Zoe did not meow. She creaked like a gate. Nobody could ever say a mean word about her, but she was, er, one off. A bit strange, but her love machine part worked fine. that was what counted with us.

Oh....I'm so sorry. ((((hugs))))
All of mine are/have been 'rescue' kitties - and I love/loved each and every one. I empathize with your loss.
What a wonderful morning she had....laying in the sun, annoying the mockingbird.... what a gift - for both of you.
May the days ahead bring you comfort and peace.
