Kerry--I ended up needing an MRI of my knee in order for them to diagnosis the damage--the xray was too vague.  I had a torn meniscus.  When they got in there there was lots of cartilage damage, too which they had to remove.  The prognosis is I'll need a total knee replacement at some point.  Ha! Not any time soon if I have my way!!  Good luck!

Yes, Kerry.  This is an athlete's problem.  My 15 year old, tall, skinny, year-round swimmer son, also runs cross-country and track.  He runs the distance events for the high school team.  After several weeks of training multiple miles daily this spring, he got to the point he could hardly walk because his knee hurt.  He was examined, x-rayed, and was simply given a brace to help him walk and told not to run for at least 5 days.  His knee just needed a rest, I guess, because it was fine when he started training again at a less intense pace.

You, jock, you!

Everyone says I am sooo much in denial cause I am 48 and I act like I am in my 20's.  What! I am supposed to be wheel chair bound or something?

I am so inpsired by you and other Vets older than me running marathons wow.  I want to do that and my cardiologist says when they repair my heart I can learn how to jog and do just that.

I am sure you will have to baby that knee and maybe even wear a brace to protect it but you will do this and I will be here waiting for the success story.

You just keep on Rockin.
