You will love Dr. M even more in person. He is a wonderful man. He is very willing to discuss common channel length with you. I am sporting a 65, I wanted a shorter one, because we have a really bad family history with Diabetes that usually results in death. He was more than happy to fulfill my wishes. I have had no problems with the shorter common channel. I did have very low iron but it was a 75/25 thing. 75% being heredity and 25% being surgery and not enough supplementation.

Congratulations! You will absolutely LOVE Dr. M! I I had my DS with him about 4 1/2 years ago. I just saw a week ago, actually, at a patient get-together we had for his birthday in Las Vegas (he was there for the bariatric surgeon conference). He is one of the nicest men on this planet, and an absolutely fantastic surgeon!
I have a 65-cm common channel and it's been great. I also had my surgery open; he took less than an hour with me, and everything went perfectly. You'll be fine!
