Anniversary and a newbie
Hello everyone! I haven't been here in a LONG time. My DS anniversary was on July 3rd. I celebrated 8 years of health and happiness after Dr. Anthone performed my surgery at USC in CA.
The exciting news is... my husband and I traveled to Omaha today so that Dr. Anthone could perform a DS on him! His surgery is this coming Wednesday and we are looking forward to a complication free and swift recovery.
He isn't a joiner and didn't make a profile here, but I will be sure to pass along any and all encouragement on your behalf!
Thanks!
Laurie P

FOR THOSE WHO MIGHT BE UNAWARE...Laurie is about the greatest person on the planet because she has put up with me forever!
Back when I was debating about a revision, I asked her, "What will I learn from the DS that I didn't learn from the band?"
Her gifted response was, "Not a f'ing thing..but you'll be able to walk into a WW Meeting because you need to lose 30 pounds instead of 150."
And while I could live with losing that 30 right about now, it wouldn't hurt me to go for more! (Laurie, after we met in CO, I began a several month long pilgrimage from one day surgery place to the next and one urgent care to the next. LONG boring stories. I'm starting to feel okay...after a few MONTHS on antibiotics...and now I'll have to deal with the results of spending a few months on the couch...with not much to do. I mean...I could EAT, right...and a girl has to do what she can do, right? Not right? Well, see...that's the problem.)
I'll call you Wednesday!
Love you back.
Hi Laurie: Happy DS anniversary! I'm glad that life is going so well for you as a long-time DS'er. I know that I'd have mine every year for the rest of my life just to keep the health and mobility that I now enjoy. My best to your husband as he embarks upon this journey on Wednesday.
