Blood pressure again ~

You definitely need to talk to your doctor about getting off your blood pressure medication.  I was on verapamil for my migraines - not for blood pressure and post op my blood pressure got down to 85/60 and my heart rate was about 50.  My cardiologist took me off the verapamil immediately.  She actually told me that I had to stop it and if my numbers didnt' improve after stopping the medication I might need a pacemaker.  Thank goodness, my numbers got better.  I still have low BP similar to yours but it is much better than before.  Now my BP is usually 100/70 and sometimes it still goes down to 90/60 but I don't get lightheaded, so all is fine.

Yea, you're right, I need to go see him and find out what he thinks. Sure hope I can ditch the meds, that would be sweet!

Hey Kerry!
LTNS- I havent been online much in months...I did happen to sign on today and see this. My 1st thought is that youre gonna be getting off those meds... before DS my bp was high normal and since about 6 months after DS I started having lows. (dizzy spells)  Dr told me to add sea salt to my diet!! Can you imagine? I had never really salted my food before that. I thought it was "bad". Well, it worked!
I hope you can get rid of the meds- and I bet you will..maybe the dr can help u start weaning off even more- then see how you feel!
Heres to you gettting better!
The DS does amazing things, eh?

Good to see you posting, don't be a stranger! How was your trip to La La land / Cali?

Amazing is the word, it's like I have to pinch myself every day a few times to make sure I'm not just dreaming this is happening!

Love, love, love, my DS!

I had an ER visit from low blood pressure a month back.  Was on Benicar (they had stepped me back from 40 mg to 20 only), HCTZ, and Metoprolol.  They did all kinds of tests and took me down to Metoprolol only (25mg twice a day), that was even too low.    Then they put me on Fleconide ONLY for the heart rhythm issues, but my BP went up too high.  Saw my cardiologist last Friday and he has put me on Fleconide twice a day and Metoprolol once a day at night.  So far so good.  I was a little upset that they put me back on blood pressure medicine, because I was so happy to be off of them... but I need it.   It is a tricky game.  Kind of like dealing with blood sugar when they take you off/step you down on that medicine.  Either way, they are trying NOT to kill you!

Moral of the story:  They will probably step you down before they take you off of everything (or they should).  Be patient and listen to your body.
Keep track of your numbers at home.  Take it with you to the doctor.
