Surgeon and "Normal" BMI - Very unscientific poll

I really think it has something to do with a 'synergy' between the CC and Alimentary, if that makes sense.  Your surgeon has a standard CC length, but what about the Alimentary and Bilio limbs? I think Dr. M was doing a standard across the board.   I dunno, if I understood all of that and knew how to cut, I could have done my own!  LOL

Normal BMI: Not yet, but I'm positive I will hit it after I give birth. (And I probably would have, even pregnant, if I hadn't added massive amounts of carbs to stop losing during pregnancy.)

Nope, I'm IMPROVING on vacation in the land of beef. I indulged in too much "student diet" (pizza and beer) last semester and made my jeans too tight. Montana is the perfect place to party on a DS!

Pomp and not yet

I'm still losing, though - I'm just almost a year out.  I don't even know if I WANT a normal BMI though - I'm 4 lbs from goal which isn't a 'normal' BMI but feels pretty good on me.  So who knows.  We'll see where my body stops.

I'm the only Pomp patient I know of this far out or farther that posts any more, but I know of four others who are at or close to normal.

My surgeon's nurse who runs our support group meetings say for us to shoot for a slightly overweight BMI.  The reason is that the heavier you get, the bones and frame adjust (thicken? widen?) to support the excess weight. The adjustment probably has to do with how obese you become and for how long.   When you lose weight, a normal BMI MAY make you look a bit gaunt.  That made sense to me!

I'm 5'2" and they set a goal weight of 140 for me.  When I was looking into surgery I wanted to get to 117 lbs.  I think I would look too thin at that weight now.

I am still at obese BMI but I'm not done losing yet.
