I want to introduce you to Goetta
You *may* find this in your local Kroger's, then. Look for Glier's goetta in little 1 pound rolls around the sausage.
Mild pork flavor with a healthy amount of spice thrown in to make it interesting. They also make Hot goetta if you prefer your goetta to slap you back.
Texture is unique. Fry it up thin & crispy on both sides and you have meat candy - brown it on both sides on a thick slice and youv'e got a bit of crisp to go along with the stuff inside that is a litter firmer than "gooey." It's a very soft product and unlikely sausage does not firm up all the way through when you thick-slice it. The oats are prominent texturally but nothing in it is chewy.

I can even recommend "The Echo" cafe in Hyde Park, where she can get that goetta inside an omlette. Tasty, tasty stuff. Goes great with mushrooms, too.
However, Mrs Rony is still early out - Rony, when you're comfortable with the soft foods stage, goetta is something you can consider trying. Not chewy at all, and everything been essentially pre-digested for you considering it's cooked for about 8 hours before they make it into patties and fry it.

You'll find me here next month.
I never heard of it until I moved north from Florida to the Cincinnati area, then someone dragged me to Goettafest and it was all over from there.
