OT lost a friend today
Learned today that we lost a dear friend of the family. He's been really ill for more than two months.
Started out with a skin infection that led to kidney failure. Then heart problems and more infections fought with massive amounts of antibiotics. His heart couldn't take the strain.
I'd be upset anyway but this is particularly sad to me because of his weight. He (like so many of us) had fought obesity since childhood. He was SSMO and had been unable to work for a couple of years (wt. related) and had become very sedentary. Of course this didn't help the condition he was in before becoming ill. So while many might say heart failure took his life, I'm blaming his weight and the problems that go with it.
He had a great smile and was one of the kindest people I ever knew.
