Shampoo Alternative?

I tried for a hour to search the site to find the posts but have had no luck. Isn't there a bar or an alternative product that a few of you use that you swear by rather than using commercial shampoos any more? I am looking for ways to make my now much thinner hair more healthy and like its old self. I was spoiled with naturally very very thick and well textured hair. Now it is much thinner and wimpy. Sadly, it is still falling out too and I am 16 months post-op. Its not coming out in huge gobs but it is much more noticeable than my average shedding-in-the-shower amounts from pre-surgery.

Thanks!

Not sure about any organic shampoo but I wanted to pass this along as it seems to helping the texture of my hair. I was told to not wa**** for 3-4 days to let the natural oils build up and allow it to strengthen. So far, this really has helped with the texture; it's not as wimpy or frizzed looking and the shedding is slowing. I still have a rats nest in the shower drain, but for now it seems to help overall. For my scalp I'm using Regis Silk Drops Repair & Shine Serum. That's really brought back some luster too.

I didn't lose my hair the way alot of people do after WLS. Am very thankful for that my hair is babyfine and thin as it is. I like clarifying shampoos and they just stopped making the pantene that I was buying. On a hunt for good shampoo, I went to Sally's beauty supply. There was a couple different product lines in there. One I bought was Folicure, it has put some life back in my hair. Honestly was able to go without washing my hair one day. There was another brand that came in a sample pack also.
My hairdresser swears by adding a little baking soda to shampoo to cut styling products once a week.

I have seen a lot about the baking soda online too. Thanks for sharing!

I found some Burt's Bees hair products at Walmart.  Their stuff is suppose to be organic.  I haven't tried it myself.

I'm sure you could look on line for a selection of things.  Will probably be pricy.  Good luck.

Lush sells quite a few bar shampoos that are quite good.

I'm also quite fond of SmartStyle's Design Line brand of shampoos and conditioners.

Dina mentioned an alternative to regular shampoo several times.  Maybe PM her or go to her blog?
