7 years
Wow! 7 yrs and doing well. It is so great to read stuff like this. Thanks for posting this and all the other great words of wisdom you share on this board. I always like to read your comments. Sorry you are having a bit of an adjustment with your meds. What was it about the plastics that created the problem? I remember you had more pain than you anticipated. Just asking for when I walk down that road someday. I have heard many say that exercise really helped with the AD. Hope it will for you, too.

Congratulations on a successful seven years!
I want to thank you for continuing to pay it forward. You were responsible, in part, for my decision to look into, and ultimately get, the DS. You responded to a post on the Main Board early into my WLS information gathering period. Your response peaked my curiosity and I've never looked back! Thank you for your part in my journey. I am eternally grateful!

Congrats on 7 years and the awesome attitude. I was on Cellexa which made me gain about 30 lbs even though my eating habits didn't change -- my sleeping habits really did. I was pushing 14-16 hours a day sleeping. I just could not wake up and exercise was beyond my mind entirely due to such extremely low mood and energy levels. I went on Wellbutrin after that, and it did help, but after an initial weight loss of 10 lbs on Wellbutrin, I gained another 25, lol. Ah well. I do hope you are able to sort out your schedule and medications, it's definitely not a fun place to be.
And for what it's worth, your posts have always helped me a great deal, and I always take the time to read your replies to others. You're a great source of information and inspiration. =)

happy surgiversary to you.....I have missed you on here!!
glad to hear the iron issue worked out, I just dealt with this at year 81/2 did the transfusions too. Did my 6wk recheck yesterday and it is doing good so far.
Like you I did find some weight that came back on mine unfortunately was mainly getting back to exercising and was muscle (yeah) and then menopause ( damn the hormones went down the drain) so it does not seem like it is not going anywhere. Can't find any extra time to swim in the day, and like the amount of carbs to protein/ fat I eat so am not willing to change the food yet.
I know that if you set your mind to it you will be able to buckle down get the exercise back in gear and tame the carb monster down to your previous success.
Are you back in San Fran or still on the eastern shore?

Happy surgiversary!!! I'm closing in on seven years myself.
What AD have you been on? It'll be great if yu can get off it entirely, but if not, maybe you could switch to a different one. And keep us posted re the ADD meds---I talked with someone recently who told me starting them was one of the best things she'd ever done. (And she's dropping weight, too!)

Congratulations and 7th Happy Surgiversary!! I agree with all the positive responses you have received so far and hope you feel better soon. I'm 3 yrs out and put 15 pounds on myself. How easy is it to keep eating the carbs and not exercising?! Mind over matter. We can both get our spreading butts up and out to lose that extra weight! Take care and keep up with the great posts. You truly are an inspiration.
