I was scared of the thought of going out of the country also. I spoke to Dr Peters as well and he was nice. However, I think I am going ot go out of the country LOL! I have heard RAVE reviews about Dr. Ungson, who Emily mentioned and I think that's what I'm going to do. I'm 99.9% positive I am.

I have been in contact with him for a dew weeks now and he is a VERY recommended surgeon by his patients. Emily and Rena are two of them that come to this board. I will be a virgin (giggles) DS and he quoted me prices of Open-11k and Lap-15k. All inclusive except airfare.

You can't beat that price with a stick for a very qualified surgeon. :D Also the care is described to be phenomenal.................so all I can say is

Yeah  know if I head out of the country that Ungson is the way to go, but Dr Peters isn't much more.

I had my surgery (virgin DS--lap) in Brazil with Dr. Marchesini four weeks ago and total cost for everything for 2 of us for 19 days was $19,000 (US).

Dr. Stewart is WONDERFUL - and his pricing is fair, too.  (I was self-pay)

I highly recommend him.  :-)

He will want you to stay close by for approximately a week after surgery - but his office will be happy to talk to you about the particulars.
