My aunt wanted her grands to call her "MaDear" With the emphasis on the second syllable. I think it was for My Dear, with the My pronounced Ma.

My kids had a Nana and a BunnyGrandma.

I had a Grandmother.

Well...

My mother's parents were Granna and Grandpa Dear
My father's parents were/are (she's still alive) Grandma and Grandpa xxxx (our last name)
My mother's great grandparents were Grandma Ruth and Grandpa Ford
My father's great grandparents were Grandma and Grandpa Henson (again with the last name-different from mine)

Personally I like Granna and Grandpa Dear the best name wise. By far, Grandma Ruth and Grandpa Ford were the most interesting and fun.

Hey Nanc, congrats honey!! Thats lovely news!! I think Grams is cute, thats what I called my G Grandma, but I have a feeling the little one will make their own decision about it anyway, they usually do and give us all the weirdest nicknames. Enjoy sweetie and that new Avie is fab, you glamorous thing you!!

Congrats on the new addition to your family!

My youngest calls my grandmother, Me-maw. I have no idea where the name came from. He just picked it and it stuck.

My niece and nephew used to call our other grandmother Great mom.
