Is this a new user name for Living On The Edge? It might help people to know who you are. Not that it's a big deal but many of these same people have spent a lot of time talking to you previously.

Ding, ding, ding- we have a winner!  I was just going to post that...  LOTE is still here too.  I think he created another account to ask the same questions he has already asked in the hopes of getting different answers...

I have no idea but it's obvious with the postings under this name and the same questions being asked that they are one in the same. From Canada with a lapband that's been removed and a low BMI and can't decide if the DS is right for him. My vote is "no", it's not right for him. I see a trainwreck in the works.

From Alberta, lap band removed in Mexico, postop fever that went unsatisfactorily addressed at home, BMI less than one full point apart.... Similar grammar, similar punctuation, especially the errors, similar choices in avi images...

I went from the US to Brazil for my DS.  Prior to going I met with my PCP, whom I respect.  He listens.  I described the DS to him, brought him literature and was honest with him about what I'd need from him post surgery.  He told me he'd be willing to research the DS and learn about it to take care of me.  That's all I needed to hear.  He's been very good working with me since I was switched.  I have had very few issues, but he has been helpful and willing to learn.

Find a PCP like this before you get switched, that's my advice.

The DUMB one is not the ER triage nurse. It's you. The emergency room is a place that is usually pushed to it's limits everyday. You have no idea what medical conditions and symptoms the other people in the waiting room have. Chest pain, shortness of breath, severe abdominal pain and uncontrollable bleeding all trump fever 3 days post op band removal. You also have no way of knowing how many patients are being brought in by ambulance through the back door. Yes, 12 hours is a long wait, but there must have been 12 hours worth of sicker people than you.
