If you are going to pretend to be someone else, at least do a better job with covering your previous posting style and idiosyncrasies.   It is blatantly obvious you are one and the same person...

Hi there,

I live in Calgary ,Alberta i wish the answer was simple but its complicated i had fever after lapband removal in Mexico so i went to hospital here in Calgary waited 10 hours in emergency because the nurse said she doesnt think its an medical emergency because she said unless you are bleeding we wont take you right away i met the ER doctor after 10 hours and told him that i talked with my doctor in mexico and she wants me to do uper GI to see if everything is fine. But the Doc said he doesnt think that upper Gi was necessary  he said your wounds look fine the fever could be bcz of viral infection or from the irritaion of tubing that they enter for anesthesia during surgery.
I am glad he was right but what really scares me is they dnt have any knowledge about bariatric procedures therefor the result is poor Diagnostic. They arent familiar with those kind of procedures and possible complications.
Always talk to your real surgeon on fone whether in Montreal or any where in the world and ask him for diagostic and then tell your ER doctor about his recomendations.
I am considering DS out of country how much do you have to pay in Montreal??????????????

I lived in Montreal for 5 years love the city but make sure there is no languge bariar between you and your Doctor because if he doesnt speak english there are many surgeons in Montreal who dnt then i wouldnt go to him, because of post of follow up on fone.
Yes   health emergency  through hospitals are covered but they dnt have bariatric surgeons would you get treatment from some one who doesnt know what he is dealing with.???
And specially the hospital nurse who put me on 10 hours priority list when i was 3 days post op with 101 celcius fever asked me how many band do i have its usually one band isnt it???
  Give me some sunshine.....
Give me some rain.............
Give me another chance i wana live again

I understand there are similarities between her n me.
Do you know how many bands are placed every single day, specially in Canada.
The clinic i used for fills and defills there was always a line up.I personally know so many people who had band removed in ER.

Oh my gosh!  It's amazing you knew to come post to THIS specific topic, right at THIS specific time.  You must be psychic.  Seriously, if you have genuine questions, and are going to take the advice given freely here and not be a dolt about it, then post here, under ONE name.  If you are going to be an asshat, and play games, you will have to take the response you get from that as well.  People have given you so much information and been exceedingly patient and nice to you.  But pulling a stunt like this (and one so poorly executed at that) is just childish and shows how unprepared you are to take on a responsibility as great as the DS.

Hi folks,

I ve been initially thinking on getting the DS out of country. I live in AB,Canada and the only two DS surgeons we have are in Montreal thats 3700 Miles away
Traveling for DS is small price to pay. But how important is follow up with the surgeon what if there is a complication afterwards there is no surgeon in the whole province who understands DS.

DS is far superior surgery in terms of skills, i remember when i had the band removed  out of country. I started getting fever three days post op i went to ER and told the nurse that i had the band removed. You ll be surprised what she asked me was how many bands did u have
I said people only get one,and she kept insisiting there are several bands placed on stomach.
Anyhows she said she doesnt think its a medical emergency and she kept me waiting for 12 hours. She said she ll only consider it as medical emergency if you are bleeding from mouth.
I called my surgeon in Tijuana and she said it could be a irritaed throat thats causing the fever from the local anesthesia tubing. She suggested an upper GI.When i told the RN about that.she said thats not going to happen because simply she doesnt think there is a need.
My bariatric Surgeon in Tijuana wanted a upper GI because of a possible infections, leaks etc because I was only 3 or 4 days post op and had fever.

Anyhow i was seen by a MD after 12 hours .DOC said he thinks its a regular viral infection and will go away and there is no need to run any test.
The fever was gone in two days as my tijuana surgeon said it could be a irritated throat from the  tubing and that it was luckily.
So conclusion Doctors here dnt even understand the basic banding surgery which i off course hate. I am not trying to be negative but there are possibility of complications with any major surgery. What if there is a obstruction i know its rare ,what if i need to be put on feeding tube. All of those things hold me back from DS which i really want.
So wish i was born in States but can’t change that unless one of you are willing to adopt me. The simplest option is VSG as i am light weight but NOOOOOOOO i dnt want another diet.

Like i said there are only two DS surgeons in the whole Country and they are 3700 miles away is it the right surgery of choice for me????

Thanks so much
