If you are not a DSer why are you here?

I realize this question sounds hostile, and quite frankfly I*'m feeling a little hostile right now. There is a rabid RNYer, randi/rbb--, who cannot shut the **** UP on this or any other board despite not really knowing her stuff for any procedure except HER RNY. But she's bored and so she hangs out here and posts RNY bull**** and won't go away.

Okay. This forum is plainly labele for DS. I know folks are doing research and other folks kind of live here, like me. Please weigh in. Tell us, oh non-DSers, what makes this board your special hangout?

I think its because they get more pleasure reading about our dietary options than they do eating their own diet food ;-)

Well Elizabeth I'm not a DSer but I got pretty close.  Unfortunately my surgeon decided on the operating table to give me a scopinaro procedure instead.  SUCKS doesn't it.  His reasoning was that I had too much scar tissue to do a full ds.  I'm stuck with it so now I move on and see where this takes me.  But this board is the closest to what I have.

It DOES suck :-(. But I'm awfully glad you didn't get stuck with an RNY.

You know you belong here *smoochies*.

Well, Elizabeth, I'm not one yet but I hope to be one as soon as possible...getting my ducks in a row.

Not everyone can be a DS'er. It takes a special type to commit to all that needs to be done. Not everyone can do that.

Welcome! Anyone interested in learning about the DS is welcome here. We simply don't really need someone here who feels the need to put in their two bits about the RNY. We did all our research and made an educated decision. It sounds like that is what you are doing too.  Good Luck to you.

Gail, I've got two good teachers, Gina and Caro. Both have taken their time to help me and answer questions. Liz

Thing is, RNYers have just as much that needs to be done, but lots of them either don't know (because of crappy patient education) or don't care/live in denial. The needs are somewhat different, but they are just as pressing.

I'll be a DSer soon. Just waiting for my husband to start his new job (on the 30th) and our new insurance the DS to kick in. I occasionally read the exercise board and the TN board but mostly I'm here. I can't stomach the Main Board (more like the RNY free-for-all) for more than a few posts before I'm so mad I want to punch somebody in the face. So needless to say it's better if I just stay here.

You are welcome here for certain.  This forum is for those interested in learning about the DS and those interested in continuing to learn and teach and share. But we don't really need any RNY information as we already have done our research. Good luck to you.
