Our stories are so similar, except that I started dieting at age EIGHT. Now I have a lap band which I hate and want out and am hoping to get switched eventually. I will be thinking good thoughts for you for an easy surgery and smooth, easy recovery!!!!

Good luck! I'm so excited to see folks having their surgery the same day as I am. Though we will be many miles away from each other I will be sending happy thoughts for a speedy recovery your way!

All the best,

I worried about all kinds of things happening that would prevent me from having the surgery. I had no doubts about going into the OR, or about the surgery choice I was making. I knew I was doing the right thing for me. My concerns were more practical and out of my control. Like, what if the surgeon got the flu over the weekend? What if the surgeon got into a car accident on his way in to the hospital that morning? I was in the pre-op prep area and still kind of waiting for them to come in and give me "bad news." I couldn't relax completely until I saw my surgeon the morning of surgery and he looked to be both in good health and well rested.

Best wishes for an uneventful surgery and a speedy recovery. Looking forward to seeing your updates.
