Ozium is made of miracles
Hi Krissy, I always use Ozium. My sister's friend had WLS and suggested it so she put it in my "aftercare basket" of goodies when I got my surgery. I buy the mini ones at Walgreens and I get the "Outdoor Essence" scent. When I went in there, I was buying a couple mini bottles and the guy behind the counter kinda looked at me funny and said I must like fresh air. I just laughed.
I think I might be developing a psychological aversion to every air freshener/odor eliminator out there. I OD'd on Ozium in my first month post op. I was really disappointed in the MediAir. I used that at work one night and a coworker asked me what died in the bathroom (he's an RNYer, so I think he felt more free to jovially pick on me about it).
I feel like they all various products work initially, but then after a few days all I smell is scented poo.
I like matches for home use, but the hubby hates match smell. Uncooperative ******* Hehe.
Currently I like the room fresheners from Bath & Body Works/Yankee Candle (essentially the same product, in about 4" metal spray bottles). It's not subtle though, it's not pocket sized, and it's clearly a chemical air freshener smell as opposed to odor eliminator. They work...mostly (I can still smell a hint of poo, but less than with many other products)....and the good scent lasts a long time. I used the White Citrus scent during my overnight shift in the lab last night. I came back in to the lab for another shift tonight at least 16 hours after the last spray and could still smell a bit of White Citrus. Still, I'm sick of all the sprays. I think I counted something like 13 bottles of various sprays on the top of my bathroom cabinet, including my original half-used bottle of Ozium. All of them have been disappointing in some way. Maybe it's just me.

I haven't tried that yet. Just never got around to ordering any online and haven't come across any in my daily shopping travels. What sorts of local stores would sell them? Would Whole Foods or the specialty section of Giant?

Thnaks! I will hunt some down this week. :)

Have you tried Citrus Magic? Val recommended it, and I love it. Nicest scent I've found, I use it in the cat's room to offset her litter box smell too. It is oil-based, so if you spray a little in the toilet before you go, it can kind of "trap" the odor in.
It can also be used as a regular air freshener.
I just get it in the air freshener section of Giant.

I have. Liked that one a lot for while! I think my olfactory glands get bored, or get wise to my attempts at trickery. It all just starts smelling like orangey poo after a period of time.

BUT, at least then it smells like what it occasionally looks like!
