Dealing with grief when you can't self-soothe with carbs
Oh Becky, I am so sorry that you had to do that. I know you have such a wonderful heart and taking in foster dogs is just one sign of how sweet you are. I agree with others, if you want to soothe yourself with something to eat, you should do it and then get back on the program. I am so sorry for your loss.

I'm sorry Becky :( I know how hard it is to make that decision, but, it is a truly selfless one and a loving on at that. You gave that pup some well needed love and attention at a tough time, and that's all you can give them. Can you splurge with some dark chocolate or carbsmart ice cream? What about a bowl of cereal in cream? Don't beat yourself up, life happens, and with the DS we can let it, and then reign it back in.
oh becky, some one needs to give you a nice warm hug. you are such a good loving friend to our furry ones.
i bet he is telling all the other pooches in doggie heaven the wonderful loving things you did for him.
yes, i really do believe there is a heaven for pets.

"I am always going to be the fat girl, even in these size fours, huh?"
I am pre-op, but like many others have dieted down to "normal" weight several times. And, yes, I was still the fat girl inside. But if part of that means feeling grief because I know how to feel love, then I hope that never changes. I would a million times rather be the person suffering because she is being made fun of than be the unfeeling person who is the source of the abuse. Don't be hard on yourself for knowing how to love.
Of course, it is better to talk out your feelings with someone who cares, but if you do eat something that you know isn't good for you, please forgive yourself and start over tomorrow as a new day. Don't punish yourself for not being perfect. No one is--not even skinny people
. I hope you feel better soon.

I'm so sorry to hear your sad news. I still soothe with food, and fortunately the DS forgives me for it. Even thin people eat to soothe their souls. I also agree with Val G.....cleaning the house from top to bottom has been my newest coping mechanism. Same with walking the beach.
