Great! I'll bring you a box or two of creamy bites. I hate those things!

Oh, that would be awesome. Thank you so much.

Let me know if I can give you any $$ for them, or if there's something you'd like in exchange. Any Philly goodies I can bring up with me, or stuff you can't get where you are?

Taking them off my hands would be great. I tasted them preop and enjoyed them, so like an idiot I got 3 months worth calculating 4 a day. Well... let me say, I can't stand them! They taste like birthday candles to me lol. I force my boyfriend to eat them just to get rid of them. I am happy to give you some.

Have you tried the bariatric advantage ones? I like(d) the idea of having something that tasted like candy once or twice a day as a treat and I thought the calcium would work for that. After my traumatic experience with the creamy bites I have been scared to try the BA ones.

If you don't like the Creamy Bites, I suspect you'll really hate the BA ones. I don't mind them, but I haven't bought them since I discovered the Calcet. They are a *****alky in taste and grainy in texture.

My husband described them as "Starbursts mixed with sand" and I think that about sums it up.

*I* don't follow Michelle's exact schedule because *my* labs don't dictate that level of supplementation.  However, I do still supplement more things than a normie.

While you will be able to find some stuff at a local BOGO sale, there are certain things that Michelle (Vitalady) carries that just aren't available at your local drug store/vitamin store.  Also, if you buy locally you need to make sure that the vitamins you purchase are formulated correctly for us.  For example, we must take "dry" vitamins.  Anything that is oil based isn't going to work for us because we don't properly absorb oil.

I worked out the Vitalady plan between her shop and other places and can do her entire plan, PLUS my probiotic, Mag Oxide, Nexium script and liquid Omega's for under $60 a month.  I buy pretty much everything from Costco where a bottle is a years supply in many things.  Pretty much the only things I actually need to buy from Vitalady are the ADE (no K for me) because she is the only place that carries it in dry form, in the amount we need.  Add in my shakes (I drink 1-2 per day) and I'm still under $100 a month.  I used to spend twice that on prescriptions a month.  It's a fair trade to me :)

You know...I buy most of my stuff from Michelle for good reasons for me, which may not be good reasons for you, but here goes....  Besides the fact that she donates a lot of time and expertise to all of us at OH, it makes financial sense--and saves time--for me.   I don't shop there often, and when I do, I buy a whole bunch of stuff at once, so that there are no shipping charges.  If I were to start shopping around for cheaper stuff--if it's in stock and if it's the right stuff for DS patients--I'd still have to order stuff like Vit D from somewhere.  So I'd end up paying out my savings in shipping charges.

I don't consider that GNC has anything I need.  Their D isn't stong enough, their Vit A is in a gel cap...that kind of thing.  Same with Walmart.

So the answer for me is that while I can probably save money buying my own Kirkland Multis at Costco when I'm there (and it is close by) the $10.67 shipping charge on one bottle of stupid vits from Costco.com makes them far more expensive than they seem...AND I'd have to do that over and over at differnet companies to get what I need.

You can buy a lot locally, and bulk up for the good BOGO sales on multi's and calcium citrate, B and zinc.  I get my dry vits from vitalady, but all in all, I'm only spending around $30/month.  I don't take her entire regimen, but instead let my labs dictate my changes.  That being said, hers is one that covers just about everything, so you certainly can't go wrong by adopting it.
