Prayers please!!! My heart is breaking!

Darlene...You and your family are in my prayers.  Cancer is a dreaded diagnosis but can be overcome.  Keep the faith... and as you encourage your DIL, let your OH family encourage you.

Darlene, I wish there was something I could do because you have ALWAYS been there for me. My heart goes out to your DIL and Jerry Don and your family and yes, yes I will dance, jiggle and say many prayers for you all. Huge ((((hugs))))). I'll call you soon to check on you.

Beloved girl...you have been blindsided.  I would wrap you up in my arms if I could strech that far. 

Ok Hodgkins Lymphoma is a ***** but curable.  I worked with dozens of people with this cancer and they are all alive today as far as I know.  Now here is my cut and paste cause I'm too lazy to type it out:

Breathe and start to relax into the knowledge that not all cancers were created equal.  Some are the end and many like HL are a blip on the radar.  Read, learn and find some comfort for her and yourself.  It is a terrible shock.  The world likes to blindisde us and the good suffer and the bad seem invincible.

As for the God question...well I don't belive in God and really doubt I ever did.  I do belive in Science which will save your girl and make having a child a possiblity despite the rigors of treatement (most likely chemo and XRT). Now the Cut and Paste:

The disease occurrence shows two peaks: the first in young adulthood (age 15–35) and the second in those over 55 years old.^[3]

The 10-year overall survival rate is more than 90% for early stage (stage I or II) Hodgkin's lymphoma. Since many patients are young, they often live 40 years or more after treatment. However, few studies follow patients as long as 25 years, and those studies are of older treatments with more life-threatening adverse effects, so it is impossible to predict long-term outcomes of newer, less-harmful treatments.

 Darlene- your DIL and entire family are in my thoughts & prayers! Such hard news. I know 2 Hodgkins survivors, one is a 15 year survivor the other is a 13 year. I'm praying she will be too.

Kristen will be in our prayers. Scary when this stuff sneaks up on you and the family. Do know Hodgkins is quite curable. I have a cousin who fought and won.. sometimes it is hard, but tell her to be determined and will keep praying for her for the entire family.

My BIL had Hodgkins in his early 20's--stage 3c.  He didn't notice the symptoms at first because he had an RnY a couple of years before and thought weight loss was due to that.  He was treated and God healed him. He's around to tell the tale.  I believe that God will do the same for Kristen!

Dog just moved--I'll grab him before he gets too far and swing him around.
