Another update- Aunt Dot made it through her surgery.  She was just moved into recovery.  They are again having trouble maintaing her blood pressures, but think they will be able to get ahead of it.  The ortho that did the surgery said the bones were completely crushed and shattered, so he did the best with what he could- lots of pins, plates, rods, ect, and she will have a tough recovery and lingering problems from this injury.  We can SO deal with that though!  Next major step is to get her through recovery and up and moving to prevent blood clots, pneumonia, atrophy, bed sores, ect.  If we can avoid those big nasties, she should be in good shape to start rehab soon.  Thank God!

Hey EBean!

I'm very glad to hear your Aunt Dot made it thru!!

I'm not sure if this will work or even possible... but when I was in the hospital, they gave me a bariatric bed... it was pretty much an air mattress that filled up and would rotate me slowly from side to side by self adjusting the air flow, this was suppose to help bed sores and such.  Maybe this could be an options for her?

God bless you and your aunt. She is lucky to have such a vigilant niece to defend her best interests. I hope for the best for you both.
