I dont want to ask about this, but I must
I am sorry about your problem. I do know that over time it has no longer been a problem for me. In the meanwhile, I agree with those above that more fiber and cutting down on your fat may help. I've never tried chia seeds, but many here have had success with it. You might try taking Immodium also. If you cannot find chia seeds at your local health food store, then you might try looking online. It's worth a try!
I have had this problem minus the leaking as I have had it for so long that I wake up and shoot straight to the toliet. I have become accustomed to it, and really that's kinda sad, but I am happily suprised if it turns out to be gas and rarely it is.
(As I did all freakinnnnn night lonnng last night ..sigh)
Anyway, the best I can tell ya is to log your food for a bit and see if there's any adjustments you can make. Fat does increase loose stools for me, as does veggies and if I overdo sugar. I cannot tolerate sugar alcohols AT ALL, so you might want to check out your sugarfree items you consume and see if they contain anything with "TOL" as the suffix. Eliminate them and see how you do. Same with dairy, some people just become lactose intolerant out of the blue.
With any of these modifications, do them one at a time so that you know what/if that is the culprit.
I know this is personal, but what are your bowels like? Are you completely loose or with some solids? How long has this been going on? I would be concerned with the weight loss after these episodes because some is weight, most is much needed water, so it's easy to get dehydrated. Basically, we are dumping out our fluids and all the electrolytes/minerals/vites before we get a chance to absorb what is needed.
Best to ya.
