I was totally able to fasten my bra in back when I went home and I went braless in the hospital. However, here's something to think about. Given my size at the time everything (boobs, belly, etc...) are all rolls and sit one on top of the other. The incisions made for the lap surgery were all between the bra line and the line just above where my belly button is. Therefore I found wearing a bra somewhat irritating sometimes because the fabric from the bra "sat on" one or two of the incision sites and would rub and irritate it. This wasn't nearly as bad when I went braless. I guess its going to be a YMMV sort of situation.

My incision stopped just below my bra, so I had no problem wearing my regular bras.

I felt like I was tight in my abdomen upper and lower in the hospital, so I couldn't tolerate feeling binded. Other find comfort and relief in the binded feeling..so much so they wear a binder. I wouldn't invest in a bra, just pack some along since you'll outgrow it the first month.

I had HUGE hooters!!!!  Still not little hooters, just long ones now. LOL
I just wore my bras I already had.  I hooked them in the front then turned them around like I always do.
Be sure and don't invest too much in any bra at this point because the boobies are the first to go on alot of us.  and you'll ungrow that new bra in no time.

I have 3 sports bras that have underwires in them that hook in the back. I'm just going to take the wires out of 2 of them and leave them hooked and put them on over my head...or get somebody to help hook them. In the hospital I'm sure a nurse will if need be & at home I'll have my dh, dd & my mom to help me. I refuse to buy any more bras at this time. 2.5 weeks to go for me!! I'm hoping I'll be needing all new bras by Christmas.

I can still wear all the same bras I wore as a preop, except now instead of pinching and squishing at the loosest notches, I have to use the last row in.  My cup size hasn't changed much, the girls have just elongated and gone from firm to squishy...  Anyway- I wouldn't buy anything.  Just bring your most comfortable bras with you.  Someone can help you secure them if need be.  I didn't have any problems putting my own bra on, and actually found the light stretch it caused in my tummy, back & shoulders felt good.  I just felt so tight and discombobulated in the tummy area, so was constantly stretching and arching my back to help.  Hope this helps!  All the best to you in the coming weeks.  Don't let the two week freak consume you, everything is going to be great!
