I am such an idiot, I took a bite of food before getting my blood drawn
The fasting lipid panel is the onyl one that would likely be affected.
Though I have to say, I gave up fasting for the fasting lipid panel... (I have my blood checked every 4-6 weeks for non-DS-related needs) I tried a little experiment a few months ago, and ate when I should have been fasting... My total cholesterol always comes back low, between 85-90 (the lab always has to double-check my results)... So I ate about an hour before my blood draw... Didn't move my cholesterol a bit... And hasn't the past few months.
So I don't even worry about it now. I just lie to the phlebotomist. "Did you eat anything this morning?", "Of course not..." -- whatever.
Pre-DS, my cholesterol was off-the-charts high. Now, post-DS, I'm well below "normal". Gotta love it.
