Hmmm...for what it's worth I hurt my neck a few weeks ago and was given a Rx for Vicodin, which contains codeine. It definitely gave me horrible stomach pain too - no vomiting but each time I took it I had intense stomach pain for about 45 minutes.
I took it without problems many times prior to my DS, but this was the first time after.

I'm allergic to codeine, and that was my reaction to it. Exactly! This was pre-op, even. If it's not some kind of allergic reaction to the codeine, it may just be your new tummy's reaction to it. If it were me, I wouldn't take it again for a long time. If it's an allergic reaction, the next time you take it, the reaction is often much, much worse than the time before. You can become allergic to medications at any time in your life, even if you've taken that same medication 1,000 times before. If this was just your baby tummy's way of ejecting a harsh substance, you may be doing damage to your tummy by putting it back in there. If you do decide to take it again, I'd take it on a full tummy. That way, it'll be coated and may not hurt so bad. Just my thoughts....
