This makes me feel better.  Why do you have to have a resleeve?

Because my stomach is huge...for some reason, the surgeon didn't make it small enough.  I've lost 125 lbs...so I did the diet but I can't lose anymore, hence the resleeve.

Buchwald uses his chief residents to do the surgery and all I can figure is he left the room and the guy stopped cutting.  lol  I really don't know what happened.  I was asleep.

That's a real bummer!  Bad enough to have to go through the surgery once, then to have to go through it again!

Good luck, Betty!

Hi Betty!  Sorry to post OT on this discussion, but I was wondering how you've been doing with your resleeve?  Been nosing around perhaps getting one myself, but there are so few people to ask about their experiences with it...

I've lost about 25 lbs so far...I've hit a big stall so I ate...yes stuff I don't nomally eat like part of a hamburger and fries yesterday and I've lost 2 more lbs so far.  I'm pleased with the resleeve...finally I have a real DS stomach.  Remember I'm 65 and so I expect to lose slower than the younger DSers.  Unfortunately that's just a fact of life.

I know it is much smaller and I really like that.  I think I haven't lost cause I haven't exercised and I'm just now hitting three months.  I'm going to join a gym today or tomorrow (I'm waiting on the cable guy to show up)...it's just too dang hot here in Texas to walk outside and I refuse to walk in the dark in the early mornings.

I really haven't had any trouble with my resleeve.  Yes, I've thrown up but that's because either a) I ate too fast; or b) I ate too much.  I've learned to listen to my stomach.  I haven't thrown up in a long time now.  Oh yes, early out I did throw up my vitamins one day but I've learned to eat something before I take them.  Duh?

I do take an OTC PPI usually once a day...sometimes not but more often I take one.  Really, that's about the only added thing I do.

If you have any other questions, pm me and we can talk.

I was 63 when I had my DS on 2/1/10.  I have lost 98 lbs. &--today--reached goal.  I am now at a normal weight with a BMI of 24.9.  I intend to lose 19 more lbs. so I get to a BMI of 22.

So, NO, Diane, you are not too old.

Sixx, I would be careful since shots of Tequila is straight alcohol w/o any mixer.  On a normal stomach 4 shots is a lot.  Decrease that stomach size and I think you're playing with fire!  I'm not a cop, but my brother and nephews are.  That doesn't mean anything though, just trying to use common sense!

I was 52 when I had surgery and went back 1/2 days after 2 weeks and full days after 3 weeks. My job is to hold a desk down but I walk in 15 minutes snatches throughout the day. When I was loosing it was like 6 - 8 walks a day.

No idea about the tequila but wouldn't mind trying it at home. lol
