Have not heard a peep from Dr. S's office today.

Guess it will have to wait until next week...

I just got switched by Dr. Stewart last week and received a bottle of his new vitamins. I'll be taking them and let you know how the labs are. They have a TON of D, E and B's and high numbers for the other essentials in just one tablet (yes, serving size is one tablet, but I'm instructed to take 2 a day). The vitamins and amounts look REALLY great. The tablet isn't very big, once my new stomach gets used to larger pills it should be no problem to take.

That's a lot of d3 that you take, is it just for keeping up the vitamin d or do you have a deficiency?

Anyway, the vitamins have 2500 ui d3 per tab, which is 6250%

nope, no deficiency here.

I started taking 50,000 IU of dry D3 a day, after I got my 3 month labs, I saw it wasn't optimal so I've added a second.

If I were to only take 2,500 or 5,000(two of them pills a day) my D would tank..

Like Gina has told me,... doesn't take much for us to drop like rocks...

I didn't have this major ass surgery to give me a better life, to then gamble with nutritional deficiencies and all that follows with that.

So in your individual case you'd have to supliment your vitamin D no matter which multivitamin you take.

yeap.. I take a regular multi (way cheaper) and supplement all my vites individually. It's more cost effective

Yeah I noticed the specialized multis were very expensive so I figured I'd do the same. I was taking GNC solotrons before the surgery and planned to suppliment post op, but Dr. Stewart's vitamins are much more potent for the D, E and B vites that I figured I'd switch to that as my multi and see how well they work out.

Hmmmmm.... Interesting, I'll be sure to talk with Dr. Stewart more about this next week.I know he only wants what's best for us.

I spoke with him about the vitamins, says he did a lot of research into exactly what his DS patients needed as opposed to making a GIANT multivitamin loaded with a million things that might not improve one's labs because the vitamins aren's specific enough (or in amounts large enough) for the malaborbtion factor.
