Can hair loss be stopped by products like Nioxin?

My mother-in-law uses Nioxin for her ever thinning hair.  It works really well for her.   Would a product like that work on folks like us?

No. NOTHING  can stop the loss. Such products MIGHT support new growth. A year of all Nioxin products cost me a lot of money and did nothing for getting my hair to grow back in. Neither did Rogaine. Neither did lots of biotin. It falls out, and then your best bet to support the regrowth is excellent nutrition. But, I say again: NOTHING STOPS THE LOSS.

Nope. It is going to happen or not and you probably need to accept that. When my hair loss started I said "Shew. I'm NORMAL."

It wont stop the loss, BUT it will help wth regroth. I have been using it sense before I had surgery and I do have about 2 to 3 inches of new groth here and there.
Its hard to watch your hair fall out, and its my BIGGEST complaint, but I know it will grow back. So as someone on here told me, its kind of like going through the ugly duckling mood, it will get better.
So it wont stop the hair loss, but it will help with the re-groth.

Have heard Phyto for thinning hair is better but haven't tried it.  Hear great reviews from those in the know.

I am not sure if it's scientific, but I did not have any hair loss with my DS. I continued the Nioxin and stayed away from any chemical treatments (relaxer, perm, coloring) for about a year. 

I was very gentle with my hair and kept it conditioned frequently.

My hair actually is longer and thicker post op??? Maybe it's from the vitamins and protein?  My labs are better post op than they were pre op, so maybe correcting the deficiencies helped my hair?

I know hair care varies drastically for  different ethnic groups, but this routine worked for me.
