Why is my hair so dry and frizzy?

It could be as simple as your climate. Wisconsin has some of the same weather as we do, here in Wyoming. You could try using a dime size amount of BioSilk on your hair after your shower. When I had long hair, I got mine from my stylist and also at WalMart. You put that in your hair when it's wet and then style as usual. If you use too much, though, it will weigh your hair down and can make it look greasy. As someone above said, try not to wash your hair every day. My stylist suggests only washing your hair twice per week, if you can stand it, and you don't get too greasy between washings. Try not to blow dry your hair, but if you do, lower the heat setting on your dryer. Since your hair is long, you could put in the BioSilk, and then braid your hair while it's still wet, being careful not to put too much tension on the hair, because you can stretch the strands. When they dry, they are more likely to break. If you're planning to stay home, you can also put avacado oil or olive oil in your hair after washing it. I used to drench my hair with olive oil, pin or clip up the length, and cover it with a bread bag, so I didn't get oil everywhere. You can also try getting a deep conditioning treatment at a salon. They should use a heat activated treatment, as getting the hair warm after it's wet opens up the hair folicles and allows more moisture into each strand.
