What is the purpose of this Vitatour?  I'm very curious. :)

We drive to the ASMBS conference every year in June. We do very short days, only about 250 mi per day because we work at night.

At first, it was just to sight see a bit (and I hate planes, airports, losing luggage, missing connections, blah, blah), but we've found it's really fun to meet the people who have supported us these last 15-16 yrs.

I mean, serious fun, especially if we've been thru multiple surgeries together. Many of them are like family to us.

The most crass way would be to describe it as a promo tour, but that doesn't mean it can't be fun or warm and fuzzy.

We did Michigan in 08. Took an extra 3 days to do it. But the Canadian contact had not set plans in motion in time. She had a family crisis, so we found out after we went to Traverse City that no Canadians would be there. Nice MI people, of course, but the Canadians who had planned to come were left without plans in place.

That's why we stress putting the plans in place way ahead.

Oh one year, the POC didn't give us a phone number and our GPS said the "place" didn't exist. All kinds of oddball things prevent meeting that have been planned.

Wow - what a schedule!!!  But fun!  If I'm in the MD area by summer, I would LOVE to meet you Michelle! My brother lives in Millersville, and I'm hoping to relocate to Baltimore one of these years (maybe sooner, maybe later - who knows?!?). Anyway, keep us posted on the MD dates, and have a great time!
